The useful distinction on a phone is between Claude drafting content and another app delivering it. A good-looking reply inside Claude does not establish which person will receive an email.
Find the official app for your device
Search the App Store or Google Play for Claude by Anthropic and follow the official listing. The current installation requirements are iOS or iPadOS 18 and later, or Android 8 and later. Availability also depends on your region and device. If the store says the app is incompatible, check those conditions before trying a similarly named app. iOS requirements, Android requirements
Uninstalling the app does not automatically cancel a paid subscription. Use the relevant subscription cancellation route if stopping payment is your aim.
Draft a message with enough information to review
Suppose you need to tell a workshop organizer that you can arrive early to help set up. This original practice request avoids supplying a contact or asking Claude to guess one:
Draft a short email to the workshop organizer.
I can arrive at 8:30 a.m. on [EXACT DATE] to help set up chairs.
Ask whether that arrival time works. Do not imply it is confirmed.
Use [MY NAME] as the sender. Leave the recipient for me to select.
Do not invent a venue, room number, phone number, or agreement.
Show me the draft before I send anything.
Replace the date and name before using the request. Read the result for the commitment it makes: “I can arrive” offers a time; “I'll see you at 8:30” can imply the organizer has agreed.
On iOS, Claude can present a message or email preview. Tap its card to open a compatible destination app, review the prefilled content, then send from that app. Claude does not have direct access to your contacts, and this system-app route does not read your existing emails or messages. iOS app handoff
Android provides a similar handoff into installed messaging or email apps. Review the draft in the destination app, select the intended recipient, and check the account used to send it. Formatting can change between Claude and the receiving app. Android app handoff
Check permissions for the task you actually requested
A text draft and a calendar lookup need different access. On iOS, calendar reading requires permission; email and message drafts use the device's sharing system. Review Claude's permissions in your device settings when an expected action is unavailable. An organization may control the app or available features. iOS permission controls
On Android, check Settings > Apps > Claude > Permissions for relevant access. Make sure the destination app is installed and configured. Android supports alarms and timers; Claude's reminder-list feature is specific to iOS. Do not assume an instruction written for one platform has the same action on the other. Android permissions and differences
If the action card is missing, update Claude and make the request specific about the app and intended result. Keep troubleshooting focused on the failed step: drafting, opening the destination, or sending.
For work that needs several source files and delivered documents, Claude Cowork covers that separate task. For this email, finish in your mail app: verify the recipient, exact date, and offered arrival time before sending.
