Sitecore rich text editor: change the intended language and version

Before editing a Sitecore rich text field, select the correct item, language, and version. In the Content Editor, open the field with Show Editor; in the Experience Editor, select the field and choose Edit the text. Accept the field changes, then save the item through the editing interface. A saved change still needs your site's normal publication process. Sitecore editing instructions

A corrected workshop notice is useful only if it belongs to the page people will read. Changing the English draft does not establish that another language or version contains the same correction.

Identify the exact notice before pasting

For this fictional example, the English workshop page needs its entrance instruction changed:

Old: Enter through the parking-lot doors.
New: Use the courtyard entrance beside the media desk.

Navigate to that page or its content item. Check the selected language and version, then find the Rich Text field that contains the old instruction. Preserve the original wording in your normal editorial record before replacing it.

Open the full rich text editor when you need links, media, or HTML inspection. Simple inline text editing may be enough for a wording correction, but it exposes a different set of controls.

Paste Word content with the expected formatting loss

In Sitecore XP 10.2's Content Editor instructions, Paste Word inserts copied Word content into the rich text field. Some formatting, including font and size, is removed. The website's styles determine the reading result; a Word document's appearance is not a reliable preview. Paste from Microsoft Word

For the entrance notice, copy the sentence you need, use the available Paste Word control, and inspect the resulting paragraph. Recheck any link text and destination carried over from the source. Keep nearby headings and lists intact instead of replacing the entire field for a one-sentence change.

The available editor features depend on your Sitecore configuration and administrator. If a documented button is missing, record the editor interface and version before asking the administrator about the assigned features.

Use HTML view for the field's content

The traditional Rich Text Editor offers an HTML view. Inspect a narrow fragment such as this illustrative notice:

<p>Use the courtyard entrance beside the media desk.</p>

It is content for one field. Pasting a full document with its own html, head, and page layout into that field changes the scope of the edit and can conflict with the site's templates.

Do not carry instructions from one Sitecore editor into another without checking. In XP 10.2 Horizon, Content and Pages use different styling contexts. Its documented editor restricts tags to the provided choices and allows the default paragraph classes; unsupported tags or classes are removed. Those Horizon rules are specific to that interface. Horizon rich text behavior

For a different CMS, the Drupal text-format workflow explains Drupal's own filtering layer. Changing a Drupal format is not a Sitecore repair.

Accept, save, and reopen the same field

Accept the changes in the rich text dialog. In the Experience Editor, use Save to save the edited field's changes. Reopen the same item, language, and version and read the new entrance instruction. Experience Editor field editing

Preview the page with the site's styles, then follow any link you changed. Record which version contains the corrected notice and pass it through the site's publication workflow. End with the destination page showing the approved entrance wording, rather than treating a closed editor dialog as publication evidence.
