A video production quote template needs a named output for that request. Keep capture time, finished duration, editing work, and export format in separate fields so the client can see what changed and what stayed in the original quote.
The original fictional quote QV01 below covers a two-hour interview capture and one landscape edit up to 60 seconds. All rates are assumed examples. The quote remains Draft; dates, source permissions, review authority, taxes, and expenses require confirmation.

Name the video before pricing its services
For a native Word, PDF, or workbook quote, put the quote ID and revision beside the client/project fields. Identify the deliverable and its source-input dependencies before presenting the subtotal.
| Scope field | QV01 illustrative entry |
|---|---|
| Capture | Two hours of interview capture |
| Finished content | One edited video, up to 60 seconds |
| Original output | V01, landscape, 1920 × 1080 pixels |
| Export | One landscape export included in the edit fee |
| Correction allowance | One consolidated correction round, supplied for this example |
| Shot list, interview plan, audio inputs | TO CONFIRM |
| Actual production/review dates | TO CONFIRM |
| Reviewer and acceptance criteria | TO CONFIRM |
Two hours is capture time, not two hours of finished content. “Up to 60 seconds” is the finished content limit, not a guarantee that editing will take a particular number of minutes. Increasing capture time does not automatically increase the finished duration or the number of outputs.
Jotform's video quote description organizes video services and rates into a PDF quote. That supports using a native service-and-price record. The version matrix and amounts here are independently designed; they are not fields or policies verified in its embedded preview. Jotform, Video Production Quote.
Reconcile the original subtotal
| Service | Pricing basis | Assumed amount |
|---|---|---|
| Interview capture | 2 hours × $100/hour | $200 |
| Edit for V01 | One edit, up to 60 seconds | $240 |
| V01 landscape export | Included in that edit | Included; no additional charge |
| Known subtotal | $200 + $240 | $440 |
State that the $440 is the known subtotal before unconfirmed taxes and expenses. Do not enter an unknown expense as zero or turn the subtotal into a confirmed final amount.
Define the consolidated correction round in the actual scope: who collects the comments, which exact edit they address, and how the team distinguishes correction from a new output or changed brief. The example supplies one round, but it does not establish a deadline, unlimited revisions, or the provider's actual terms.
Attach an input and rights checklist
Keep a separate record for the interview brief, shot list, available source assets, audio expectations, and permissions required by the project. Actual references remain blank until supplied.
Raw footage and project files are excluded from this example delivery. Captions, music rights, and vertical reframing are also excluded unless separately supplied and scoped. Their absence does not mean the client received them, and an available music file does not establish permission to use it.
For each proposed asset, record its identity, intended use, evidence reference, and unresolved questions. This is a scope/evidence checklist, not a licensing determination. A missing permission should remain visible rather than being replaced with an assumed “royalty-free” label.
Record the vertical request as V02
The client now requests a 1080 × 1920 vertical version, V02. Record the requested frame size, the source edit it relates to, and the reframing and graphics review it needs.
| Output | Content/frame scope | Change state | Assumed price effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| V01 | Original landscape edit, up to 60 seconds; 1920 × 1080 | Original scope retained | $240 edit already counted |
| V02 | Requested vertical version; 1080 × 1920; content duration to confirm against V01 brief | Additional scoped edit proposed | +$80 |
The independently assumed extra edit is $80, so the revised known subtotal is $440 + $80 = $520. The capture remains two hours and V01 remains in the quote. Do not remove the original output merely because V02 was requested.
Write the reason for the extra scope: the vertical version needs its own framing and graphics review. A correctly labeled file or changed export dimensions alone does not establish that the requested edit was completed.
Tie the change to a revised QV01 record, V02's specification, supplied review allowance, actual approver, and decision. Keep acceptance and delivery fields blank until the authorized workflow supplies evidence. The additional price is proposed, not accepted revenue or a completed video.

Use fictional Draft QV01 as a clearly labeled example:
Two-hour interview capture at assumed $100/hour = $200.
One edit of an up-to-60-second video, fixed assumed $240.
V01: one included 1920 x 1080 landscape export.
Known subtotal $440 before unconfirmed taxes/expenses.
One consolidated correction round is supplied for this example;
actual timing, reviewer and definition require confirmation.
Raw footage, project files, captions, music rights and vertical
reframing excluded unless separately supplied and scoped.
Show a capture/input brief, line-price table, named output/version
matrix, rights/evidence gaps, correction allowance and change record.
Separate capture hours, finished content limit, editing and export.
Change request: V02, 1080 x 1920 vertical version, needs reframing
and graphics review. Assume an independently illustrative extra edit
of $80, revised known subtotal $520. Keep V01 and original two-hour
capture unchanged. Confirm V02 content duration against its brief;
do not infer it from dimensions. A resized export does not prove a
verified vertical edit. Additional capture hours do not automatically
increase finished duration. Missing music permission stays unresolved.
Keep proposed prices/change scope separate from actual approval,
capture, review, acceptance and delivery. No actual video, rights,
booking, payment, signature or completed service claims.
Return a complete editable draft quote and blank input/decision
records in the chosen native format. Do not send or book anything.
Review the generated quote by following V01 and V02 through every line. The client should be able to identify each output, its input requirements, and the proposed extra work without mistaking a subtotal or a draft for final agreement.
Compare the output scopes in NOS
NOS can save and render prepared HTML. A sanitized HTML companion can put V01's original scope beside V02's reframing request and the $440-to-$520 calculation. That supports a clear scope discussion without replacing the native quote.
Keep actual commercial terms and approval/delivery evidence in the requested quote format and authorized business workflow. Explore NOS.
