A two-day rehearsal needs people who can attend both Friday and Saturday. Sending the full combined list would include someone who misses one session. Intersection narrows the result to shared availability, letting you see the eligible names directly instead of comparing the lists by eye.
The eligible attendees are Owen and Nina because both names appear on Friday and Saturday. Maya and Leo each appear on only one day, so neither reaches this result. That makes intersection a useful expression of a two-day requirement. A union would include all four names and answer a broader availability question instead.

Try the result before changing the rule
Edit the JSON and select Update preview to rerun the same expression. Original data restores this starting sample; Changed data supplies another preset. The operation runs locally in the example, so trying a value does not send an invitation, change a product, or save a setting.

Follow one run
The two arrays become separate Sets, and intersection returns a new Set of values present in both. Owen and Nina are shared in the starting data. Array.from makes that result visible. Neither availability list is edited, and values present on only one day are excluded.
const data = {
"friday": [
"Maya",
"Owen",
"Nina"
],
"saturday": [
"Owen",
"Nina",
"Leo"
]
};
const result = Array.from(new Set(data.friday).intersection(new Set(data.saturday)));
console.log(result);
The starting sample returns:
[
"Owen",
"Nina"
]
The input is JSON-friendly, while the working collection is a Set. That distinction explains why the source panel can retain repeated values even when the result does not. When the result is a list, the wrapper converts the collection for display; a boolean or count is shown directly.

Check the case that changes the answer
Set.intersection requires support for newer Set composition methods. Also avoid assigning business meaning to its result order: the operation promises membership, while iteration order can depend on collection sizes.
An intersection with an empty Set is empty, even if the other list has many people. Repeating a name in either input does not add another eligible entry. Newer implementations can choose which collection to iterate based on size, so keep result order separate from any promise about rehearsal priority.
The smaller version keeps the same expression with fewer visual elements. Use Edit code to inspect the complete HTML, or Copy code to run it as a local file. If the script does not execute, the JavaScript troubleshooting guide helps check placement and syntax.

Make one edit you can predict
Remove Nina from Saturday and rerun. Then add Maya there. Track how one person's availability changes eligibility without changing anyone else's submitted availability.
Remove Nina from Saturday and expect only Owen. Add Maya to Saturday afterward and the eligible membership becomes Maya and Owen. If you need a fixed displayed order, sort the returned names explicitly before rendering; the attendance rule should not depend on which name happens to appear first in the collection. Use stable attendee IDs for a real availability comparison. Sharing a display name does not prove that two records belong to the same person on both days.

Keep strings double-quoted when editing this sample. A JSON parsing example explains the difference between a parse error and a valid value that the operation cannot use.
For the rehearsal decision, let a coordinator try a person available on one day and a person available on both. Put those cases in the HTML and share the runnable comparison through NOS, so the eligibility rule is visible before it reaches a scheduling screen. Their preview edits are local to their run; sharing the HTML does not automatically synchronize those edits.
