A rating preview needs four stars, but storing four separate star characters would make it awkward to try another count. String.repeat() creates the repeated text from one symbol.
For this example, one star becomes four stars. The method generates a display string; it does not decide the rating, calculate an average, or make the stars into interactive controls.

Try the working result
Use Changed data to compare a second sample, or edit the JSON and press Update preview. Original data restores the starting example. This is a running browser demonstration, so the visible result comes from the operation rather than a fixed screenshot.

Follow the operation
data.repeat(4) concatenates four copies of the source string. With a single star as data, result contains four stars and the original data still contains one.
Repeating a longer string repeats the whole string, not just its first character. If the source includes a space after the star, that space appears after every copy as well.
A count of zero returns an empty string. A fractional count is converted to an integer by truncation, so it should not be used to represent half-star ratings. That feature needs separate rendering logic rather than hoping repeat will draw a fraction of a character.
Here is the exact expression behind the original result:
const data = "★";
const result = data.repeat(4);
console.log(result);
Its returned value is:
"★★★★"

Handle the important boundary
Negative counts and Infinity throw RangeError. Extremely large results can also exceed the string size a browser supports. If a count comes from user input, validate it and use a sensible range such as zero through five for a five-star preview.
An empty repeated result is different from a visible zero-rating message. Decide whether zero means Not rated, Zero stars, or something else in your product, then render that text separately. Repeat supplies the symbols, not the meaning of an empty state.
Make the behavior your own
Change the input to a star followed by a space and inspect the spacing in the result. Then try an empty source string: repeating it still gives an empty string.
In the copied starter, test counts zero, one, and five. Add an explicit label for zero before testing an invalid negative count. If you connect the count to a control, keep its allowed range visible and reject unsupported values instead of relying on an exception to explain the rule to a visitor.

For the full definition and compatibility details, see the MDN reference for String.repeat. If the copied file's script does not run, the HTML and JavaScript guide covers the surrounding setup.
Share a version worth testing
A rating preview should communicate both its symbols and its no-rating state. Share the complete HTML through HTML to link so someone can inspect those choices. NOS shares the browser prototype; the example does not collect votes or synchronize ratings between visitors.
