A five-slot availability view needs a starting label for every slot. You could assign Available five times, but Array.fill() expresses the same initialization in one operation.
The finished example changes all five empty strings to Available. It also makes the source array visible, because fill updates existing positions rather than creating a separate independent schedule.

Try the working result
Use Changed data to compare a second sample, or edit the JSON and press Update preview. Original data restores the starting example. This is a running browser demonstration, so the visible result comes from the operation rather than a fixed screenshot.

Follow the operation
Calling data.fill('Available') writes the supplied value into every current index. The array keeps its length of five, and the returned value is the modified array itself.
The optional start and end arguments let you target a range. data.fill('Available', 1, 4) changes indexes 1, 2, and 3. Index 4 is excluded, so the first and final slots keep their previous values.
That exclusive end is useful when setting a continuous block of slots, but count indexes before deciding how many will change. Filling a zero-length array does not create slots: there are no existing positions to overwrite.
Here is the exact expression behind the original result:
const data = [
"",
"",
"",
"",
""
];
const result = data.fill('Available');
console.log(result);
Its returned value is:
[
"Available",
"Available",
"Available",
"Available",
"Available"
]

Handle the important boundary
A string such as Available is safe for this simple example. An object behaves differently: filling several positions with the same object puts the same reference in each slot. Editing a property through one slot can therefore appear to change all of them.
If each slot needs an independent object with its own status, create those objects separately, for example with Array.from and a callback. fill is appropriate for repeated primitive defaults; it is not a shortcut for cloning a structured booking record.
Make the behavior your own
Change one input slot to Busy, then run the original operation. It should become Available too, because the call deliberately overwrites the entire array. This is initialization, not a rule that preserves booked slots.
In the copied starter, fill only the range from 1 to 4 and compare the untouched ends. Then try an empty input array. Finally, decide whether your real interface needs to replace every label or update only selected slots before using fill in its event handler.

For the full definition and compatibility details, see the MDN reference for Array.fill. If the copied file's script does not run, the HTML and JavaScript guide covers the surrounding setup.
Share a version worth testing
Availability labels are easier to review when someone can change the starting slots and see the overwritten range. Copy this complete HTML and share it through HTML to link. Keep bookings fictional: the page is an interactive prototype, not a shared reservation system or a guarantee that a slot is free.
