Three shipping-rate entries include two updates for the north zone. A dashboard should report two configured zones rather than three update rows. Map.size counts the distinct stored keys after construction, giving you a simple way to separate coverage from incoming update volume.
The configured-zone count is two, even though the original array has three rows. North is one key whose fee changes from six to seven; south is the other key. This is useful when you care about the resulting lookup's coverage. It is a different metric from incoming update count or the total of all delivery fees.

Try the result before changing the rule
Edit the JSON and select Update preview to rerun the same expression. Original data restores this starting sample; Changed data supplies another preset. The operation runs locally in the example, so trying a value does not send an invitation, change a product, or save a setting.

Follow one run
The first north entry establishes a key, south adds another, and the later north entry replaces the existing value. The resulting Map has size two. size is a property, not a method, and its count refers to keys rather than quantities inside the stored values.
const data = [
[
"north",
6
],
[
"south",
8
],
[
"north",
7
]
];
const result = new Map(data).size;
console.log(result);
The starting sample returns:
2
The source uses entry pairs so you can see every key and value before the lookup is constructed. The working Map is separate from that source array. Converting its entries for display does not make the Map itself a JSON array, and reading it does not submit a catalog change.

Check the case that changes the answer
Map.size does not count source rows or add numerical values. Duplicate keys collapse during construction, so keep the original data if you also need an update history.
size is read directly as a property, so there are no parentheses after it. Setting a new value for an existing key does not increase the count. Adding a new key does, and deleting a present key decreases it. Empty Maps begin at zero regardless of what kinds of values they will later hold.
The smaller version keeps the same expression with fewer visual elements. Use Edit code to inspect the complete HTML, or Copy code to run it as a local file. If the script does not execute, the JavaScript troubleshooting guide helps check placement and syntax.

Make one edit you can predict
Add another north entry and then a west entry. Predict which addition increases the zone count and compare that with the changing length of the original list.
Append another north update and expect two. Append west with a fee of nine and expect three. Give west a zero fee and it still counts as a key. This shows why counting distinct configured regions should not depend on whether their stored shipping fees happen to be truthy. For reporting, label the number as configured zones rather than entries received. That wording stays accurate even when many incoming updates refer to the same zone.

Keep strings double-quoted when editing this sample. A JSON parsing example explains the difference between a parse error and a valid value that the operation cannot use.
To review a reporting label, include repeated region updates in the HTML and share the runnable example through NOS. A teammate can compare three incoming rows with two configured keys and help choose wording that reports coverage rather than update volume. Their preview edits are local to their run; sharing the HTML does not automatically synchronize those edits.
