A settings inspector needs the names of its fields before building controls. The object already carries those names.
The settings object already names its fields: theme, density, and language. A settings inspector can use those names to decide which rows to show. This example extracts the field names while keeping their values in the original object.

Try the working result
The result is a three-item array of names, rather than the light, comfortable, and en values. Add "notifications": true to the JSON and update the preview: notifications becomes another returned key without a separately maintained list of field names.
Use Changed data for another preset, or edit the JSON and press Update preview. The controls use sample data; they do not contact a backend.

Follow the code
Object.keys returns own enumerable string-keyed property names as an array.
Object.keys takes the object as an argument; it is not called as data.keys(). For this ordinary settings object, each own enumerable string-keyed property contributes a name. You can then access data[key] when rendering a labeled row, or choose Object.entries when you want names and values together.
const data = {
"theme": "light",
"density": "comfortable",
"language": "en"
};
const result = Object.keys(data);
console.log(result);
The original sample returns:
[
"theme",
"density",
"language"
]
The output separates field names from field contents. Changing theme from light to dark leaves the keys array unchanged, because the property name is still theme.

Take the small version apart
The starter uses the same operation with a simpler layout. Choose Edit code to inspect its HTML and script, or Copy code to save the complete example as index.html. Open that file in your browser to run it without a framework. JSON inputs need double-quoted keys and strings.

Avoid the common mistake
It excludes symbols and inherited properties. It does not list every possible property.
Object.keys is not a complete inventory of every property a JavaScript object could expose. It excludes inherited properties, non-enumerable properties, and symbols. The JSON editor represents ordinary string-keyed data, so those advanced property types are not available as JSON presets.
Change one rule, then check it
Add a notifications field and watch its name appear.
An empty object returns []. A settings page can display No settings supplied instead of inventing controls. Add the notifications field, remove language, and check that each change affects the returned names. Reordering or naming a field is a separate design choice from editing its value.

The MDN reference covers the full syntax and browser support. If your saved page does not run its script, the HTML and JavaScript guide helps check the file setup.
Put the example in someone else's hands
A settings inspector is a useful small artifact for discussing which fields belong in an interface. Share it with fictional preferences and ask a reviewer to add or remove a field. They can judge the structure without opening your development environment.
Copy the complete HTML and use HTML to link to share the runnable file through NOS. Each visitor can try the browser-side example; this does not synchronize edits or add a shared database.
